We’ve received reports from some users that they have encountered various issues with lectionary subscriptions: not receiving lectionary readings through e-mail, lectionary readings on calendars going 404 pages, pop-ups asking users to sign-in to access lectionary readings. These issues are a result of the migration to the new RCL website, and we apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused.

• To receive readings in your e-mail, you’ll need to resubscribe. For instructions, please visit the subscription page, “Subscribe to our Email List!” After entering your email address, click “I’m not a robot” and “Join for spiritual inspiration.” The readings will be delivered to your email in 24 to 48 hours.

• To add readings to your calendar, you’ll need to locate and remove/delete the Revised Common Lectionary Calendar from your personal calendar. Then visit the subscription page, “Calendaring,” and follow the instructions to add daily and/or weekly readings to your calendar.

The new RCL website is live! It features easily accessible lectionary readings in NRSVue, links to thousands of art images for reflection, lectionary prayers, worship resources, and other features, all in a beautifully presented new interface. With this update, we hope you’ll find it even easier to interact with the lectionary. As always, let us know what you think.

Scripture texts in the Revised Common Lectionary are from the New Revised Standard Version Update Edition (NRSVue) of the Bible. For more on the NRSVue, please see the NRSVue page on the Bible Gateway website and SBL and NRSVue document, Pages 6-11 on the Society of Bible Literature.

We continue to update and refresh the PowerPoint and PDF slideshow files. These contain selected texts from each of the Sunday Lectionary readings along with reflective images. Since the images have copyright release for non-commercial use, the slideshows may be freely used in worship and educational settings. The slideshows are also linked via the “Slideshows” links on the right sidebar of the scripture text pages. It can also be accessed on the lectionary site under Resources > Slideshows. We are interested in your feedback; please contact us with your questions or comments.

We are now offering black and white art images for each Sunday or Special Day that are specially modified for use in print materials, online worship, or church websites. They are designed for reflection upon the Gospel reading. The only restriction for using the images is that they are identified and used for non-commercial purposes. It can be accessed on the lectionary site under Resources > Illustrations. Please offer feedback, as we continue to develop this tool.

Daily readings expand the range of biblical reading in worship and personal devotion by providing daily citations for the full three-year cycle of the Revised Common Lectionary. These readings complement the Sunday and festival readings: Thursday through Saturday readings help prepare the reader for the Sunday ahead; Monday through Wednesday readings help the reader reflect on and digest what they heard in worship. You can also find the readings by looking for the “Daily” link on the Sunday and Special Days scripture text pages on the right sidebar of the screen. It can also be accessed on the lectionary site under Resources > Daily Readings.

We offer a wide variety of printable formats that arrange the Lectionary readings for use as a handout, bulletin insert, or Bible study tool. The print PDFs are also linked via the “Print PDFs” link on the right sidebar of the scripture text pages. It can also be accessed on the lectionary site under Resources > Print PDFs. We offer a calendar feature for Google Calendar, iCal, and Outlook. Please find the calendar subscription by selecting Tools > Subscribe from the navigation menu above and follow the instructions under “Calendaring.” Please contact us with your questions or comments.
